Short notice I know, but we will be displaying Matthew Szymanski’s work tonight (March 15) at the H.E.L.P. Launch Party in Raleigh. The event starts at 5:00 at Visio Dei (524 E. Whitaker Mill Rd., Raleigh, NC). There will be music by Wahba and Silver, as well as coffee and desserts. Best of all the entire event is FREE! So come on out, support some great musicians and artists, but most of all support a great cause.

We just got confirmation that we will be a part of the next Designers Downtown Market in Raleigh, NC on November 29th from 9am to 3pm. We’re stoked to be able to get out there and show what our artists have been creating, and it’s even better because it’s right after Thanksgiving, and we’ll have some Christmas product available! So, if you’re in the Raleigh area, or if you want to travel, come on out and kick off your Christmas shopping with some unique, one-of-a-kind pieces of art, photography, and clothing! And we won’t be alone… This event hosts lots of artists and crafters from around the Triangle and beyond, so come and show them support as well by picking up everything from art to clothing to jewelry and accessories from all the vendors!

We just added some new paintings by Matthew Szymanski to the store. If you like trees, lightbulbs, or lawn chairs check ‘em out! These paintings utilize some really unique techniques and materials to create some amazing decor for your home, so browse them here and while you’re at it make sure you show our other artists and brands some love as well…

Just a quick update to let you know how you can help out with spreading the word about shop314.com… We are currently working on building a pressence on many online networks (Facebook, MySpace, Virb, etc.) so show some 314 love by heading to the links section and adding our brands and artists as friends. Also, if you have the “Pieces of Flair” app for Facebook, check out the new shop314.com, Afterlife, and Szyman Stuff buttons available in the browse section of the app! OK…so, the remodel is almost complete. You’ll see that the biggest change other than the layout and color change is a new section that allows you to get to know the brands and artists. Just click on one of the logos under Brands/Artists and you will be whisked away to a bio page where you will get to learn all about them. From there you can link into the store for products made only by them. We also have a free flow blog built in (what you are reading), so feel free to comment.

You’ll also notice an events calendar, that while it is empty now, check back often as we are working diligently to set up art & fashion shows (if you know of a good venue/coffee shop/etc. let us know), and we will also be participating in some collective art and craft shows.

Finally, some things to look forward to… We will be revamping the store (not sure how that will look when all is said and done), but until then the current one is fully functional. Again, check back for event updates. Last, but not least, we will be getting a full description of what 314 is and what we hope to accomplish through it. This will not only give you insight into what we do and what we’re about, but it will also give you some opportunities to get involved.
